Piano Lessons
My name is Sarah and I would love to share the joy of creating music at the piano with you. After many years of elementary and high school private lessons, I went on to earn a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from Cedarville University. Upon finishing college, I continued my education through courses in Collaborative Piano at the Cleveland Institute of Music. As we started growing our family, I switched my focus to teaching private lessons out of our home, performing at church functions and events, always finding different ways to serve our community through music and the arts. I am always learning and looking for ways to teach students more effectively in order to elevate the culture around us and fill students’ lives with joy and empowerment.
Let’s learn to play the piano! Playing a musical instrument goes SO FAR beyond just moving your fingers to create sound. You become a multi-tasking machine! Keeping time, coordinating fine motor movements in your fingers, listening to pitch, intonation, and breath, operating the pedal, perhaps even singing along while doing it or playing along with others…all working together to create a magical concoction of aural beauty! The neural pathways created in your brain while you learn to play an instrument improve reading scores, understanding mathematical concepts, and even interpreting nuanced facial expressions.
